Becoming a Student Pt Four
Summing it up, we’ve talked about bonus hunting, freerolling, notes, and learning the various forms of poker online. But we’ve not talked about becoming even better. This final part in the series of articles is geared at the reader and practitioner. If you think about it, anyone can read how to play the guitar, but not everyone can pick one up and play it after they read it. Same is true for poker online. So I’d like to suggest some good forums to pick up some valuable information on. First is railbirds, a large community that consists of poker players from all over the place, and who, if you participate enough in the forums, will invite you to some special freerolls on various sites. Also, check out the Two plus Two forums, this is one of the best for poker advice and strategy. The sections are divided from beginner questions to advanced questions and theory so there’s something for everyone there. And finally, you should check out deuces cracked. These guys specialize in internet poker. And they do video so you can see some of the theory in action. But you guys do remember my next part. Not only are you going to be reading about poker, you’re going to be putting this stuff into practice. So you can just forum surf all day and become better. If you find something you like and think will work for you, don’t hesitate to hop on your favorite site and start trying it. Remember practice is how you get experience and experience is how you learn. Oh, and while you’re forum surfing, it wouldn’t hurt to pick up some of the hold ‘em books from the pros, a lot of good material is in there, too. Well that’s it for the becoming a student series. I hope it helped you guys start thinking about poker as a learnable thing just like everything else in life. Good luck at the tables.
